The winter fronts have started to roll through, meaning the PDYC mooring area will be copping some heavy winds and waves depending on the direction. Thursday evening’s front, saw 30 to 40 knots from the north, that got boats bouncing on their moorings.
The Club is very pleased that currently, all mooring service periods are up to date in the Club area, thank you to all the owners that have assisted in getting us to this level. As you would have noted in your mooring renewal notice from MAST, two years is the required service interval, it’s the right interval, don’t forget to set the date of your next service.
Please don’t think it’s set and forget for the winter, there are still a large number of boats that are not tying off mooring loops to cleats and strops to bow rollers please get into the habit of tying of your mooring. Examples of best practice in the adjoining photos, and remember your chafe protection.
Take the time to check on your boat after a blow and if you haven’t checked your boat for a month or so make the trip to it, and check sail covers and furling lines are secure, safe winter everyone.
