Tamar Marine Blockbuster 2019 was a big air series with race three on the Alpha course with the shifting westerly topping out at a gust of 30 knots, which saw put race 4 under postponement for Sunday. After a fabulous meal and a big night on the dance floor, Sunday brought a building north westerly that was brought some great close racing, especially in the NS14 fleet.
On the Bravo course, Daniel Maree took the win, in Loose Cannon with Nicholas Whitton in The Fang taking second with Elysha Jones taking third in Running on Empty.
The Alpha Course, the lasers were lead home by Ryan Morton with the full rig on Voom, Andrew Jones took in OTE with a radial rig with Sarah Sargent taking third in Lambordinghy.
The NS14 Class again provided the largest fleet of the regatta, Scott Wilkie and Gus Wilkie sailed their Serenity to the win with five bullets, Sam and Lindy Bailey signed off with a second, for their permanent time at PD with a move to Hobart, but they will be back with the NS travellers.
Third went down to the wire on the water and was decided by a count back, with NS fleet owner Barrie McIndoe and Max Edmunds in Tequila, second with a couple of second places (one by a 1 second) enough to take the place from Ruby Edmunds and Magnus McIndoe in Walk on the Wild side. The race seven finish with a 1 second win (about 1meter from the Dalrymple) to Ruby and Magnus, was the highlight of the regatta for the start boat crew.
In the B14s Midway Points Steve Miller and Lauren Bird took home their second B14 Cup, in Phantom, taking the win from club mates Jack Whitlle and Adrianne Daley in Buzz with Mick and Sam Jones third in Misunderstood.
