Second year in and the PDYC Shakedown Series has doubled in entries, with ten boats signed up to contest this weekend series, with old and new faces back on the water for the start of the 2020-21 sailing season, great start for the year to come.
Entry list is Alice, Chris Bayne's new SB20, Mick and Mel Jones' Ambition, new to the Club is Big Pup, a Swarbrick S111 owned by Theresa Badrock and Anton Bezemer. Our Rear Commodore has Blueprint prepped for a night run up the river, Jamie Cooper has got Don't Panic back in the north, for her first race in a few seasons. Honey Pot is the new name for the Hick 35, Hickup, now in Nick McElwee and Damon Wecker's ownership. Ross Edmunds is flying the 5.9 flag, with Hot Dog lining up as for her first Shakedown. Return entrants from last year, are Paul Badcock's Odessa, Jason Harriss's Relentless and Tim White's Sassy.
Racing gets underway 1910 on Friday, for the race upriver to Rosevears, with a Saturday pursuit race off the historic Rosevears Hotel starting at 1330 and a return race from Rosevears to Deviot on Sunday starting at Rosevears at 0900.
Eligible boats competing in the 2020 Shakedown Series must lodge an entry form, final crew list and CAT 5N safety Audit form. Late entries may be accepted at the organiser’s discretion up until 1600 hours on Friday 20th September (Late entry fee $100.
