Pontoons prepped for use.

Big thank you to Club sponsor Sub41 for managing the re ballasting of the old Bonny Beach and Deviot pontoons that have been donated to the Club by West Tamar Council as part of the Sub41 contact to replace both these pontoons. Both pontoons were set up to take the weight of there large long walkways and floated high with the larger floats in those areas.
The pontoon have been ballasted down with 1.5t of steel weights salvaged from the old counterweights from the oil loaders at the old Bell Bay Power Station, so a great reuse of a scrap.
We can now move onto planning the reuse of both, with the smaller Bonny Beach pontoon to replace our steel works pontoon that has served us well through use on the jetty and two jetty reconstructions, but is now at end of life.
We are looking at the best short term and long term options for the Deviot Pontoon to improve the Clubs facilities.
