Perfect sea breeze conditions greeted entrants in the PDYC Regatta with close competitive racing across the fleets.
The Princess of the Tamar which see's the Off the Beach Classes competing against each on VYC Yardstick, this years fleet varied from a Taipan 4.6 catamaran, down to a Sabot.
This years Bonney Energy Princess of the Tamar went to Amy Lee in her Sabot Sail Fish, from the NS14 Walk on the Wild Side of Barrie McIndoe and Terina Ennis, with last years winner Grady Frith, taking third in his Sabre Zahir.
The Cock of the Tamar, which is presented to the fastest elapsed time around the Division 1-2 course saw a battle royal from the SB20s, Honcho and Persian Princess around the long course, with David Shepherds Honcho taking the win, from Bill Rostron's Persian Princess.
The Steve's Liquor King of the Tamar is decided on PHS results, with the strong incoming tide keeping the planning SB20 in grasp on Handicap for the rest of the fleet, The race win went to many times contested, first time winner Cordon Bleu, helmed by Peter Sluce, ten seconds clear of Doug Reid's Farr, Mako with Mike Breen's Scintilla taking third. With only 41 seconds covering the top three super close racing.
The PDYC Regatta was leg one of the Bart Hutton inter club team’s trophy, so round on points scoring the top three boats from each Club has TYC the points leader on 10pts with PDYC second on 11pts. So super close, as we head to the final leg of the Bart Hutton Series at the TYC Regatta on Saturday 28th of February.
