PDYC Christmas travelers, Nats and Oceans

The Christmas New year period see’s Port Dalrymple members spread far and wide across the country as they continue the Club tradition of members contesting National Championships for their various classes.

This year is no different, with the exception that some get to stay home, the B14 Nationals have three PDYC entrants with the our IPC Mick Jones and son Sam taking the refurbished Misunderstood into their first Nationals, along with the second Jones combo Andrew and Josh in On the Edge, Josh Harriss and Bailey Edmunds in Bondi Tram complete the Club entrants for the Nationals, The B14 Worlds will see all the above back up, with Ryan and Rob Moreton, in The Cunning Plan joining them, after contesting the L2H on Ocean Freeway.

The TYC registered Beal 15 Whistler makes her L2H debut with a PDYC crew lead by Piers Findlay, of Kevin Lloyd, David Alan, and Dimitri Skrinnikoff, making their way south in comfort, and keeping the Ocean Freewaycrew on their toes.

The Club has all the Major Ocean races covered, heading down the West Coast in the M2H is Peter Brooks, sailing in the two-handed division, with Jo Breen on Morning Star, the pair are using the M2H as their qualifier, for the Melbourne - Osaka race, they are contesting starting in March 2018.

Callum Cecil is heading south in the Sydney to Hobart, on the TP52 Celestial, looking to improve on their third in Div 1 IRC last year, behind winner Balance and Ichi Ban.

PDYCs NS14 Convoy made up of Barrie and Magnus McIndoe in Magic and Loss, Sam And Lindy Bailey inArctic and Nick and Brianna McElwee in Under the Radar are heading west to Largs Bay Sailing Club in Adelaide to contest the 49th NS14 Nationals.

Rounding out the travellers is the Hillcoat family, with Ellen contesting the Sabot Nationals at Darling Point Sailing Squadron on the Brisbane River, the team Hillcoat will then head south with John Contesting the 505 Nationals with Deviot’s Mike Whitmore at the Wangi Sailing Club on Lake Macquarie.
