The 2017-18 Season was a stela year for the Port Dalrymple Yacht Club, with the B14 Worlds and Nationals hosted, together with one of the largest infrastructure projects the Club has ever undertaken with the main jetty works, both huge volunteer driven events in the Clubs history.
Our members represented the Club and exceled at the highest level, in Ocean Racing with Peter Brooks Co Skippering with Jo Breen Morning Star to 2nd in the Melbourne Osaka, Nick and Brianna McElwee being the first Tasmanians to win the NS14 Nationals, and the Club now the home of three 2018 Tasmanian Champions, NS14, Sabot and Elliott 5.9.
The 2018 Tasmania Yachting Awards hosted by the DSS on Saturday, saw the Club and Members nominated in three categories. One of four Clubs in the “Club of the Year”, Pete Brooks and Jo Breen, one of two Nominees for the “John Bennetto Medal” and Nick McElwee, one of seven nominees for “Yachtsman of the Year”.
We are pleased to annouce that PDYC were successful in two categories with Vice Commodore Barrie McIndoe accepting the Tasmanian Club of the Year Award and Peter Brooks winning the John Bennetto Medal with Jo.
