Jetty Update, Stage 3 underway!

Published Sat 27 Oct 2018

Stage three of the main jetty redevelopment is underway, with the Clubs three existing pontoons, soon to get new aluminium frames and GRP decking to match the recently completed fuel and day berth pontoons.

The Club extends a huge thank you to, Confab Engineering, QUBE Ports, Nuts and Bolts Tasmania and Tamar Marine, for their amazing support of this project.

Frames for pontoons two and three are complete at Confab, huge vote of thanks goes to Ross Edmunds and David Blazely, for the time they have put in over the past months, getting the frames together. The pontoon one (the inner courtesy dinghy pontoon) frame, will be going together over the next couple of weeks.

This week the jetty construction crew put the band back together, after Winter break, and headed over to Confab getting the fendering, floats and decking, installed on pontoon two, which will be the first to go into place. Followed by three and one, over the coming months as the existing pontoons are brought ashore and their floats transferred to the new frames and decks. The bulk of the capital for these works is coming out of Club reserves, with the for mentioned support from Confab Engineering, QUBE Ports, Nuts and Bolts Tasmania and Tamar Marine, that have made the project just achievable.

Just achievable, being the operative word, with this in mind, we remind members that the Clubs Jetty Re-development Fund, that allows tax deductable donations via the Australian Sports Commission, is still open for donations. Every donation, no matter how small, means more Club funds will be available for other projects.
