PDYC got a Christmas present today, with a 20’ container of FRP grating arriving, that will be the decking for all the pontoons and the entire jetty, when the jetty re development is complete. Huge thank you to Agility for their assistance with coordinating the transport of the of the grating, all went very smoothly.
As those astute readers of the Examiner may have noticed, we are very grateful for the Tasmanian Government coming on board to support the re development of the jetty, with a grant of $30,000 dollars, the government contribution was matched by West Tamar Council, with an additional $10,000 dollars of support. Special thanks must go to Club Patron Peter Kearney, for his tirless support of the project.
We are closing in on have the jetty back in action for the Christmas break, two of the original pontoons are back in the water and the new aluminium walkway is nearly in place, fingers crossed by the end of the week, we will be operational again.
Thank you to all members, for your cooperation for this first stage of the Project, much more to come in the new year.
