Jetty Re development update 14th December

Published Thu 14 Dec 2017

The Jetty team have been busy trimming all the poly pipe sleeves to level and getting the mounting tires in place, the first of the Club pontoon number two is back in location on the new piles, with the tender pontoon (one) returning to the water early next week.

The first of the new 1200 wide aluminium gangways is in the final prep stage and will be going into place with the tender pontoon, so we will be back operational for Christmas, with two pontoons and some restriction to access, on the still to be reconstructed outer section of the jetty.

A note of caution, please keep clear of the new piles to the north of the jetty, there are a couple of the original piles that broke off above the sea bed, we have a couple of options underway to get them out, but be cautious about being close to the new piles at low tide.

Hugh thank you to all the projects supporters, and volunteers and the team at Multiskilled Tasmania. We are making good progress on the redevelopment project with all the steel fabrication complete, piling complete, the aluminium gangways are flowing off the production line, floats and decking grating are here or awating delivery.

The last big fabrication the new fuel berth and day berths will be underway in January.
