Huge thank you to all the worker Bee's

Published Wed 07 Oct 2026

Huge thank you to all the Members that gave up their time over the last 2 working bees, your club has benefited greatly from your time and effort, we are looking sharp and ready for the coming 75th sailing season.

The first day saw all the grounds mowed and trimmed, Enviroslip catch pits cleaned and a lot of small maintenance items ticked off.  Including the servicing of all the Clubs turning marks, big thank you to Club sponsors Northern Mooring Services and Sub41 for making mark servicing quick and easy with the right gear.

For the second day we got a lot of bigger projects sorted of note were:

  • Preparing the refurbished slipway travers rails for grouting following on from the great work by Apex Contracting of re setting the rails. Hats off to Committee member David O'Brien for his tirles and detailed project management of the travers rail replacement.
  • Swapping out the tired tender pontoon with the recently donated Ex Deviot pontoon, giving us breathing space to plan for the best permanent solution for the tender pontoon. Again huge thank you to Sub41 with their barge and crane making the job a breeze.
  • Installation of water access ladder to the end of the outer pontoon.
  • Replacement of the very tired Member access door, that now closes with snick rather than needed to be slammed.
