HIRW 2026 PDYC Member wrap

Ties and count backs were the order of the day for PDYC members contesting the 2026 Hamilton Island Race Week. In PHS Non Spinnaker Division Glenn Myler sailing his Beneteau Oceanis 43 THYLACINE ONE, was flying the PDYC flag to third place. Just bumping in to third on a count back, with their final race result giving them the edge over fourth placed ME & MRS JONES. Glen's best results were a win in race 4 and a second in race 5.
In the Hamilton Island Blue, the PHS big boat fleet, Calum Cecil was on the lux ride of the Marten 67 CAOL ILA owned by Walter Carpenter. With 2 seconds and 2 thirds during the series, CAOL ILA nearly got the top spot, but was relegated to second on a count back to Grant Wharington's Wild thing 100, after a super closed series.
Looks by reports it was another fun in the sun or rain and wind regatta for the first few days, but another memorable Hamilton Island Race Week for the traveling PDYC members.
