Fantastic final 2020 sailing day.

Our club was bustling on Sunday for the pre Xmas wrap up.

In the morning our Tackers & Learn to Sail group had their final session of the pre-Xmas Program followed by a sausage sizzle and certificate presentation. Training Photos

This program attracted 28 young sailors ranging from first timers in Tackers 1 through to the more experienced Sabot sailors in the Better Racing class.

We have seen fantastic development across all ages and experience levels.

A particular highlight has been the resurgence of the Sabot fleet with 10 boats now registered with the TSSA and the sailors setting themselves for the State Championships at PDYC in late February.

The new orange “Spark” sails for transitioning sailors have been a big hit.

In the afternoon, the NS14 sailors completed five races in their sprint competition which included on water coaching.

The keelboat fleet competed in Race 5 of the Harken Pennant Series which has attracted 18 competitors overall.

It has been a busy first half of the season with fleet numbers at levels not seen for many years.

Time for a break for volunteers and competitors before club sailing resumes in January.
