EnviroSlip Project update to members 3

Works are happening at rapid pace now with Clean Green Plumbing, joining Prodig and head contractor RMB Construction on site, along with Tasmania Electrical Services. The final components from Demen Pumptec have arrived being the wastewater collection pits from Fox Environmental. Big thank you to Andrew and Michelle Jones of Island Engineering Supplies for their support on all the valves and back flow protection devices to bring the Clubs water connection and the supply points to the jetty and slipway up to standard. The new retaining wall along the western side of the west hardstand is well underway and we thank Island Block and Paving for their support with the block supply.

So a wrap on the work in the last couple of weeks, all the gravel prep is done, for the new slip bays on the East and West sides of the travers bay. Collection pits and pipework are going in for both areas, along with new water mains and electrical conduits and 95% of equipment is now on site ready for installation. The sewer connection for the wastewater disposal is now in place and the Clubs main water connection will be upgraded prior to Easter.

One of the main aims along with wastewater capture and treatment in the EnviroSlip project, has been to future proof the services in this area of the Club. The new layout of water and power will see every two slip bays sharing a marina style pedestal water and power supply points removing the danger of power leads and hoses across slip rails. Site supply of water and power will also be increased, with all the old gal water pipe removed from the water feed, increasing flow and pressure, with the option of recycled water, to be available for initial wash down at the top of the slipway. The water upgrade will allow the installation of fire hose reels in teh slipway with the improved water supply, and water and power feeds to the east side of the Trailer Park will be installed, allowing future extension along the eastern parking bays.

If you haven’t been to the Club for a while, have a drive by and check out the progress, when you are at the Club, please remember the slipway is a construction site under the control of the RMB Construction, so there is no access. We note that you may see some Club members on the site occasionally assisting with the electrical install, and other items, please still respect that the site is restricted access and do not enter.
