
Entries are open for the 2026 Project Maintenance Engineering Three Hummock Island Yacht Race, since the 2025 race the 3HI Race Committee lead by PDYC VC Narissa McElwee have been working with the Ocean Racing Club of Victoria, to link in with crews contesting the M2D race on the preceding weekend.
This has paid dividends with race entries opening, the ORCVs Cyrus Allen is returning with his Beneteau 50, White Spirit and Paul Roberts, Jones 42 Cadibarra, were the first entries for the 2026 race, followed closely by the entry of PDYCs Nick McElwee with the Hick 35, Honey Pot.
The 2026 Project Maintenance Engineering Three Hummock Island Yacht Race is a bold offshore sailing challenge held off the rugged northwest coast of Tasmania.
Launched in 2024 and now reached the stature of a Rolex Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race qualifier, this Cat 2 event takes competitors on a 211-nautical-mile test of seamanship, strategy, and endurance – featuring a unique twist: skippers must choose their route around iconic Three Hummock Island.
The Cat 2 Racing division starting on 14:00 on Friday 6th November, is supplemented by a Cat 4 cruising race to close to Devonport and return, starting at 11:00 on Saturday November 7th.
