Entries are open for the 26th Tamar Marine Blockbuster over the weekend of February 14th and 15th 2026 and we hope that past and new Blockbuster entrants will help us celebrate the Regattas history, as we move into the next 25 years.
From its birth post the 2000 Sydney Olympics in 2001 Mark Turnbull and new crew Nick Partridge starting their 49er Olympic campaign, joining the Tasmanian 49er fleet at the inaugural Blockbuster weekend in 2001.
2002 saw the start of the current proven Tamar Marine Blockbuster format, with the B14, NS14 and Laser classes, kicking off the Tasmanians longest running multi class regatta. Those three classes have been joined by the Sabot and Sabre classes over the years, with that growth continuing for the 25th Anniversary, with Optimist and Pacer classes to join the Blockbuster family.
