Doyle Inshore Championship Results

Another Classic Doyle Inshore Championships has been run and won, huge thank you to Doyle Sails and Engine Reco and Parts for their ongoing support. The weekend saw testing conditions for the race management team lead by RO Greg Rowsell with less than perfect wind directions both days and a building wind conditions Sunday that saw the final race abandoned dur to the wind conditions. The fleet saw close racing through all classes with some great one design battles across the fleet.

In the Class Base Handicap trailable division, Andrew Jones Thompson 8 Cutting Edge took the win on 10 points, from Wynyard’s Nick Richardson's I550 Midlife Crisis on 13 points with Kevil Lloyd taking third in the SB20 Honcho on 15 points.

In the Arbitrary Division a keeping out of trouble regatta saw an entrant from the inaugural Inshore Champs in Peter Sluce’s Holland 25, Cordon Bleu take the win on 17 Points, with Leven's James Lohrey's I550 Flying Flamingo taking second on a count back from Cutting Edge on 18 points.

Other commitments kept the local SB20 number low, but the racing was close with the result of the final race deciding the Engine Reco & Parts SB20 Division with Honcho taking the win, from Bill Rostran in Persian Princess.

Thanks to all the entrants and the great support from the NW coast with four boats making the trip to Port Dalrymple, looking forward to the 33rd Inshore Champs in 2023!
