CNW 53^rd Australian NS14 Championships

CNW Electrical Wholesale Launceston return as Naming Rights Sponsor for the 53^rd Australian NS14 Championships. CNW Electrical Wholesale Launceston first sponsored the NS14 class in 2012 when Port Dalrymple Yacht Club first hosted the NS14 Championships.

To be known as the CNW 53^rd Australian NS14 Championships will take place from January 4^th to the 9^th, bringing competitors from every state on the eastern seaboard

National President and Port Dalrymple Yacht Club Commodore Barrie McIndoe is excited to see the class return to Beauty Point, with the trials and tribulations of the last couple of years, getting a national championship off the ground has been no mean feat. With strong early registrations and after 2 cancelled attempts over the last 2 years we are learning to live with Covid we are extremely confident that we will finally be sailing.

We believe Beauty Point offers some of the best sailing waters in Tasmania and that we offer one of the most spectator friendly venues in Australia, with the PDYC clubrooms providing an elevated, unrestricted view of the racing area.

CNW Launceston Manager Justin Flint explained that his branch has a policy of supporting local sporting clubs and athletes and by throwing his companies support behind the 53^rd Australian NS14 Championships local sailors will have the opportunity to compete at the top level on their home ground.

Past National and multiple State Champion Nick McElwee is optimistic about his chances at Xmas, having sold the boat he claimed the crown with in 2018, he admits that his new boat is providing some challenges but assures he will give it a good shake.

Whilst being the youngest early bird entry young sailor Magnus McIndoe is lining up for his 10^th National Championship. With eyes fixed on the National Youth Crown, Magnus will be also representing Scouts Tasmania for the Commissioners Cup open to youth members of the Scout Association
