The final days racing in the Petuna – Bell Bay Aluminium B14 National Championships was blown out, with a westerly front coming through on the evening of the 29th. The race committee checked the wind speeds on the course twice during the afternoon, with the Class upper limit of 30 knots exceeded on both occasions, N over A was signalled, for the day racing.
With the days racing abandoned, Nick Richardson and Adrian Beswick took their first B14 National Championship, in Rocketship, for Wynyard YC, in a popular class win, on 11 points. Robbie Hunt and Ben Price in The Hitcher from Kingstone Beach SC took second on 15 points, with Guy Bancroft an Louis Chapman in Bonus, third on 17 points representing McCrae YC.
Handicap results saw, Isaac Mearns and Tom Killalea Leven YC take the win in Miss Conduct, from Josh Harriss and Bailey Edmunds, second in Bondi Tram, representing the host club Port Dalrymple. Third from the Royals was Pinky and the Brain, helmed by Kirsty Gray and Crew Julian Salter.
Racing continues at PDYC on the 2nd of January, with the Tamar Cove - CST Composites, B14 World Championship.
