2025 duke Shakedown Wrap.

What a fantastic weekends racing on the Tamar! A big thank you to all the skippers, crews, and volunteers who helped pull this weekend together. Duke Shakedown day one Race, was from PDYC up to Rosevears, the win went to Honeypot - Nick McElwee, From Ambition - Mick Jones with Team Findlay third on Whistler.  Race 2 on Saturday afternoon was a staggered start Pursuit Race, along the Rosevears foreshore, the win went to Ross Edmunds newly acquired Radford 35 Sprint Dog with Ambition second from Honey Pot.

After racing wrapped up on Saturday, more than 30 sailors, family, and friends gathered at the Rosevears Hotel for dinner and the prize presentation – a great way to celebrate the first day on the water.

Day two of the duke Shakedown saw Race 3 sailed, a quick sprint from the Rosevears pontoon back to the Deviot pontoon, the Honeypot crew continued their Day one form to take the win, from Ambition and Sprint Dog 

With racing finished and the boats made their way back to Beauty Point, with crews enjoyed a BBQ on the PD deck and a debrief.

All in all, everyone had a fantastic weekend and are excited for the 2025/26 sailing season. Final series scores for the new format duke Shakedown, saw the win go to Honeypot on 5 points, with Ambition second on 6 points and Sprint Dog third on 8 Points

Congratulations to Honeypot and crew on taking out the series, and well done to the whole fleet for some tight, competitive racing!
Plenty of laughs, great sailing, and good company – exactly what the duke Shakedown is all about.
